How to paint bathroom tiles
You can repaint worn and tired tiles in your bathroom quickly, cleanly and durably.
We explain how you can renovate your bathroom without remodelling, you just need to paint the tiles!
When choosing the best paint for bathroom tiles, it is important to choose high-quality products specifically designed to adhere to ceramic surfaces and resist moisture and wear.
With our Autentico Versante Matt, you get a natural matt finish on any tile. It does not look like the tile has been painted, but as if you have laid a new tile with a matt finish. With our products, you protect your health as you paint your tiles with a healthy, durable and odourless paint (low VOC products).
Our paint is durable and, thanks to its smart membrane, resistant to moisture in the bathroom, even in the shower area.
Renovate your bathroom without building with our high-quality Versante kitchen and bathroom paint.
Good luck with your project and we are here to help.
Painting your bathroom tiles with original Autentico products in a few easy steps.

1. Preparing the bathroom before painting
Bathroom tiles can become very greasy from soap and shower gel.
For the most effective adhesion, clean the tiles thoroughly with our Omniclean. Use a ratio of four parts Omniclean to ten parts water. Dry the tiles and joints with a cotton cloth. Check that the tiles are completely clean. If in doubt, repeat the treatment.
2. Primer
After drying, apply a coat of Autentico Primer with a soft roller and leave to dry for 4 hours.
3. Painting the tiles
After the primer has dried, paint with Versante Matt using a soft foam roller. Apply two coats with a drying time of 4 hours between coats.
If you are going to paint large tiles, consider applying a pattern using a stencil, as we have done in the photo. This is just an idea to show you how to personalise your work.
4. Sealing?
Sealing is not strictly necessary because Versante contains a moisture-resistant membrane.
In some cases, however, it can provide even more protection.
If your bathroom gets a lot of traffic, we recommend applying two coats of our Heavy Duty (matt or satin) varnish for extra protection.
If you paint your tiles in a dark colour, such as Nocturnal, Nearly Black, Black Hills, etc, you may see white marks when you touch them with your fingertips or nails. This is due to the high lime and grease content and can be removed by applying a thin layer of our Autentico Clear Wax.
